1. Tie the rope attached the heliograph on your neck,

2. Hold the heliograph and the round of the foresight in it;s center close eye,

3. Sight through the aperture of the foresight and find an objective (ship or aircraft),

4. Angle the heliograph until reflections from sun show and a light-point appear on the foresight,

5. Angle the heliograph continually and alight-point remove to the round of foresight,

6. At moment rays from sun pass through the heliograph toward objective and your are signaling
